Gas Quotes by Wes Studi, Gene Spafford, Gord Downie, Eddie Vedder, Jodi Picoult, Guo Guangchang and many others.
I myself, as an American Indian, feel like a failure in a way. I have not been able to do anything about the fact that these large corporations are taking so much natural gas and oil out of the soil. It seems like we’re always involved in fighting something. It’s tiresome.
The only system which is truly secure is one which is switched off and unplugged, locked in a titanium lined safe, buried in a concrete bunker, and is surrounded by nerve gas and very highly paid armed guards. Even then, I wouldn’t stake my life on it.
It’s a gas, just phoning up some bands and saying: ‘You don’t know us but we love you and would you come play with us?’
I feel like we have to keep our eyes on the road. Being nostalgic is like taking an offramp and getting a sandwich – and then you get back on the highway. I don’t want to be spending the rest of my life at the gas station.
Once, I asked my mom why stars shine. She said they were night-lights, so the angels could find their way around in Heaven. But when I asked my dad, he started talking about gas, and somehow I put it all together and figured that the food God served caused multiple trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
You have to maintain the balance between fast growth and smooth growth. It’s like driving a car and knowing when to balance the gas pedal and the brake.

Neither solar nor wind are actually substitutes for coal or natural gas or oil.
I don’t see a groundswell of people willing to raise gas taxes right now. That leaves fuel economy standards as the only effective tool we have as a nation to make a dent in our dangerous and ever growing consumption of oil.
I believe in natural gas as a clean, cheap alternative to fossil fuels.
I don’t know how to fix a car. If the car breaks down, and the gas tank does not say “E”, I’m screwed. But if the gas tank says “E”, I get all cocky – “I’ve got this one, don’t worry.” So I get out the toolbox AKA wallet.
Now you may like the images of long-haired hippies running in the streets throwing tear gas canisters, but we didn’t end the war. And that’s what we set out to do. What was not ended by the anti-war movement was ended by the Vietnamese. That’s our shame.
That’s been the secret to ‘Gas Monkey’: Move fast. I opened the first restaurant within a year and a half. Most people wait five years. I always move quickly, and in today’s market, no matter what you’re in, you can recover from a mistake faster than you can recover from not doing.
In conventional oil and natural gas production, you always produce a lot of formation water, and it’s crummy water. It’s real salty. It’s got heavy metals in it. It’s got bad stuff in it.
A native American group has filed a class-action lawsuit against the government for mismanagement of oil, gas, grazing, timber and other royalties since 1887. They’re seeking $100 billion. I remember when you were born, it was dawn and the storm settled near my belly. And I rolled in the grass and spit out the gas, and I lit a match and the void went flash. And the sky split and the planets hit, balls of jade dropped and existence stopped.
The U.S. has a proud history of cleaning up our air through technological innovation. We did it with leaded gas, acid rain and countless other pollutants, and we can do it with carbon pollution, too.
Where did she come from, and where can I find one?” “Picked this one up at a gas station in West Virginia, bargain price. Last one on the shelf, sorry.

The gas-law of learning: . . . any amount of information no matter how small will fill any intellectual void no matter how large.
I’m trying to set out the passion and complexity of this sport. Many people think it’s a dumb activity: stand on the gas and turn left. In fact, it’s probably one of the most complex sports in existence.
Amy was profoundly shocked. “A little over an hour ago, our bus was attacked by three men in ski masks. They definitely knew me, and probably Dan, too. We fought them off, but it could’ve gone either way.” “Like if they’d used a cookie truck instead of a gas tanker,” Dan added. “Nobody’s scared of Oreos.

A lonely hansom splashes through the rain,
And ghostly gas lamps fail at twenty feet.
Here though the world explode, these two survive,
And it is always eighteen ninety-five.

As hurricanes Katrina and Rita raged through the southeastern United States last summer, much of America’s energy infrastructure based in the Gulf of Mexico was damaged or destroyed causing gas prices to soar.
Because we are now running out of gas and oil, we must prepare quickly for a third change, to strict conservation and to the use of … permanent renewable energy sources, like solar power.
Scooby snack. Jurassic. Plastic. Gas. Booby Trap
About 75% of the price of gas is really dictated by crude oil. At the heart of the issue is increasing demand over a period of many years around the world. World crude oil consumption now is close to 90 million barrels a day. Most of the growth in demand is coming from China and the developing world.
This is why mustard gas is such a danger or any weapon of mass destruction is such a dangerous thing because it – it’s victims become everyone in the end.
Anderson Cooper has a job to do. And that job is to try to reinforce his credibility in the gay community after the fact that you couldn’t get him out of the closet for 10 years with a canister of tear gas. Now he’s the sheriff; now he’s running around writing everybody a ticket!
High gas prices are eating away at consumer’s disposal income and could lead to a further economic downturn, especially for those whose livelihood depend on gasoline and diesel fuel.
I’d love to fly, especially with the gas prices right now.
As an 18-year-old, I learned a valuable lesson when I attempted to cut costs and pumped leaded gas into my first car – a car that required unleaded gas only. It did not take long before I realized the gravity of my error.
On some issues, I’m a staunch Conservative — like curtailing greenhouse gas emissions so that we can Conserve the environment.
When Thomas Edison worked late into the night on the electric light, he had to do it by gas lamp or candle. I’m sure it made the work seem that much more urgent.
It is common sense that when women are able to plan their pregnancies, populations grow more slowly and as a result so do greenhouse gas emissions. Providing access to contraception and preventative health should be one of the many effective strategies used to fight climate change.
State companies winning deals because of government-to- government interaction has become a rule rather than an exception. This will increase competition for multinational companies in acquiring oil and gas assets.
I think the whole human-induced greenhouse gas thing is a red herring… . I see climate change as due to the ocean circulation pattern. I see this as a major cause of climate change… . These are natural processes. We shouldn’t blame them on humans and CO2.
Quite frankly, I think nothing could do more to immediately bolster national security then enabling us to produce more oil and gas here at home at a price consumers could afford.
We’ve passed an energy bill in the House, to help us be less reliant upon foreign oil so we can get gas prices down. But nothing happens in the Senate.

The Bush administration and Congressional Republicans have failed to bring up comprehensive energy reform or any piece of legislation for that matter that would lower gas prices, opting instead to give massive subsidies to the oil and gas industry.
Climate is a global issue. Coal is still the energy that is being used more than anything else to make electricity. The United States is using less as we’re turning more to gas. But, around the world, that’s what they’re using.
One of the things that I think nobody’s done yet is really taking advantage of the electric powertrain layout, which of course, means you don’t have a gasoline engine in the front and you don’t have a gas tank in the rear.
My father was a coal hewer from Goldthorpe, a coal-mining village in South Yorkshire. He played for the Yorkshire second team as an opening fast bowler – to me he was a gorgeously heroic man. He helped form a union and closed down the Barnsley seam because it was seeping gas, and saved many, many lives.

I hope that in future Congresses there will reemerge a recognition that climate change is a reality, that our policies to meet our energy needs must also deal responsibly with environmental issues, including the damage caused by greenhouse gas emissions.
Real Men no longer drive Corvettes. Despite being able to squander gas with the best of them, even today’s least enlightened Real Man finds the notion of a $17,000 plastic car with no trunk somewhat absurd.

My stories are of gas chambers, shootings, electrified fences, torture, scorching sun, mental abuse, and constant threat of death. But they are also stories of faith, hope, triumph, and love. They are stories of perseverance, loyalty, courage in the face of overwhelming odds, and of never giving up!
While some sit on the sidelines and fail to offer any practical solutions to address high gas prices now, the House is once again taking action to meet the energy needs of the American people.
What I took away from my ‘Flashforward’ experience is that when you’re doing a serialized mythology show, you put your foot on the gas, and you do not take it off.
Obviously the shift to gas and the need for large amounts of gas in the United States is going to be a major focus of attention on the part of producers.
High gas prices are eating away at consumers disposal income and could lead to a further economic downturn, especially for those whose livelihood depend on gasoline and diesel fuel.
Our leaders must get to grips with the huge risk that carbon dioxide emissions pose to the economy and the environment. As we know, carbon dioxide is a long-lived gas. It hangs around.
Back in ’98 or so when I was in film school I was working on lighting for a movie in Georgia, out in the middle of nowhere at a gas station. Inside the gas station they had a bunch of old home remedies like castor oil, and one of them was a protein supplement called Beef, Iron & Wine. I just dropped the Beef part.

Everybody in L.A. has a screenplay. The guy pumping your gas has a screenplay.
Burning fossil fuels emits carbon dioxide. And carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas that traps heat in the atmosphere. There is no debate about that. The link is as certain as the link between smoking and cancer.
Eat more beans to produce more gas.
If silicon had been a gas I should have been a major-general.
To say to a country that it shouldn’t export its gas is like saying, ‘Look, the only way we can defeat hunger is to put a padlock on the refrigerator.’
Our sacred beliefs have been made pencils / names of cities / gas stations / My knee is wounded so badly that I limp constantly / Anger is my crutch / I hold myself upright with it / My knee is wounded / see / How I Am Still Walking.
I have to say that oil and gas revenues make up a large part of the Russian budget revenue. This is a serious component for us in addressing economic development, budget funding for our development programmes and, of course, and meeting of our social commitments to our citizens.
Fracking has been a real technological change that has caused great innovation in our business, and we’ve had the benefit of very low gas prices for our customers as a result of that.
We can trace the elements. They were forged in the centers of high-mass stars that went unstable at the ends of their lives, they exploded, scattered their enriched contents across the galaxy, sprinkled into gas clouds that then collapsed and formed stars and planets and life.
I did a film when I was about 30; it’s a coming of age story called ‘Gas Food Lodging,’ and I’m so proud of that little independent film. I play this young English geologist, and he’s such a simple, loving kind of guy. Doesn’t talk too much. He’s just a quiet guy, and he gets the girl.
Countries around the world are celebrating new oil and natural gas discoveries that hold the promise of greater prosperity for their citizens.

Relative to oil, however, natural gas is very cheap and very attractive. And I think that natural gas in emerging markets is very attractive. There is very little natural gas infrastructure in places such as China, where there is tremendous demand for natural gas.
It’s such an insult that foul gas comes out of a hole in our butt with a sound to announce itself. It’s the ultimate bad thing about being a person.

What we are investing in, from a generation standpoint, are renewables and natural gas.
Those days if you drove cross country and you broke down on the side of the road, and the sign says 200 miles to the next gas station, you knew you were so screwed.
I loved Catholic school. I didn’t like being beeped at by old pervs at the gas station because I was wearing a plaid skirt, though. It’s like, do you think I’m going to stop and give you my phone number?
As gas prices continue to drop, 28 states are now selling regular gasoline for less than $2 a gallon. It’s getting cheaper to pump two gallons of gas outside the station than it is to pump two squirts of nacho cheese inside.
I think God has blessed this country with enormous natural resources, and we should pursue all of the above. We should be developing oil, and gas, and coal, and nuclear, and wind, and solar, and ethanol, and biofuels. But, I don’t believe that Washington should be picking winners and losers.
I just like people. I’ll hold a conversation at a gas station. It’s not about the fame and the fortune, I just like people.
I love gas stations. Gas stations have some of the sickest clothes ever. T-shirts, hats, everything.
The biggest industrial sector next to real estate is oil, gas and other mineral resources. They don’t report any taxable income, because if you depict yourself as earning a profit, you have to pay a tax on it. So, it’s all about what accountants choose to declare as profit.
I’ve been breastfeeding for two years. I could light the gas ring with my nipples.
I’m a theater guy and a filmmaker. So when my community was thrown up in the air by the gas industry, the way I could contribute was to do something in the film world. I never thought it would be a big deal at all.
Librarian is a service occupation. Gas station attendant of the mind.
The clock is ticking as nature attempts to absorb the increased greenhouse gas emissions.
We met our partners in Europe, and they are signaling to us that supplies from traditional European gas production sources is falling, and falling substantially. Without new volumes of Russian gas, they simply cannot cope.
We simply have to transition from an economy based almost exclusively on oil and coal and natural gas to one that’s far more diversified, that uses solar energy, and wind energy, and the power of the tides, and bio-mass energy, and eventually, develops hydrogen.
Germany is the place where when Hitler was the prime minister and supreme commander, he burned over six million Jews. This is because Hitler and all German people knew that Israelis are not people who are working in the interest of the world and that is why they burned the Israelis alive with gas in the soil of Germany.
I know what it’s like to dig in the couches to find a quarter or two to pull together so you can get a gallon of gas and your grandfather can go to work. That is not something defined by whether you’re a Democrat or Republican.
I must confess that, at that time, I had absolutely no knowledge of the slowness of the relaxation processes in the ground state, processes which take place in collisions with the wall or with the molecules of a foreign gas.
The Russians can’t change us or significantly weaken us. They are a smaller country. They are a weaker country. Their economy doesn’t produce anything that anybody wants to buy, except oil and gas and arms. They don’t innovate. But they can impact us if we lose track of who we are.
We hate to be cheering for high gas prices. The reality is that’s what’s happening.
What,” I said, “is that a crime here or something? Like only buying one thing at the Gas/Gro?
Natural gas is hemispheric; I like to call it hemispheric in nature, because it is a product that we can find in our neighborhoods.
I tell people all the time: All I need is gas money.
A hot air balloon requires a great deal of fuel to keep it aloft, so that you can’t fly it even for one day. A gas balloon, which usually uses helium, has the problem that the helium cools at night when the sun is not on it, and you have to throw ballast overboard to keep it from going to the surface.
Newt Gingrich…is absolutely for bombing Iran and for lowering gas prices. And I’ve just to say, you can’t be for both. They are diametrically opposed.
With regard to electric vehicles, I am all for them because most of the incremental electricity needed to run those vehicles will come from gas-fired electric generation. However, I do not believe it is wise for America to substitute dependence on foreign oil for dependence on Chinese batteries.
Opening up Atlantic and Arctic waters to drilling would lock the next generation into burning oil and gas in a way that only makes climate change that much worse, fueling ever rising seas, widening deserts, withering drought, blistering heat, raging storms, wildfires, floods and other hallmarks of climate chaos.
I run like an electric golf cart. Now I look at eating as a way to feed my body and keep me younger. It’s not about starving your body, but treating your body like a Ferrari. You don’t put in the crappiest gas you can find. You use supreme. In the long term, you’ll run clean
Expeditions are escapism. The stuff that we’re normally concerned about just doesn’t matter out there. Tax returns, gas bill, none of it. Life becomes very simple, it’s about moving in a certain direction – north if you’re going north – staying warm and not getting eaten. That’s it.
Researchers at the Naval Postgraduate School have told us that the entire Arctic ice cap may totally disappear in summer in as little as five years if nothing is done to curb emissions of greenhouse gas pollution.
I thought I was raptured up into the air today; turns out, it was just my gas oven exploding.
Wherever we find orderly, stable systems in Nature, we find that they are hierarchically structured, for the simple reason that without such structuring of complex systems into sub-assemblies, there could be no order and stability- except the order of a dead universe filled with a uniformly distributed gas.
People worry that gas prices are high and how they are affecting their pocket book. But they want to know about renewable energy. People are really starting to question things, and that’s made people look to the future in a positive way.
I’m committed to the goal of Senate Bill 324, and that is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Why spend money on movies when you can spend it on gas? Or dry cleaning? Or groceries?
Like the producers of crops, airplanes, and books, producers of natural gas provide goods to meet the size of their available market. The larger the market, the more they can produce, and the more revenue they can obtain to cover their fixed costs and invest in future development.
You have to be able to generate usable energy without greenhouse gas emissions and you have to be able to do it cheaply if you want people to choose that approach.
At the end of drama school, I made a contract with myself: I’d try acting for five years. I was 26. I had already spent eight years working in restaurants and gas stations. So I had seen enough small businesses to understand that that’s what acting is: a small business.

Goals are like the gas in your car, you may go in many different directions after you fill up, but with out the gas you are not going anywhere
I had worked so hard on three projects 1997 that it knocked the gas out of me. It was a mystery to the medical profession, but you can test positive for Epstein-Barr and not have it. When you get a post-viral syndrome, for some people it causes chronic fatigue or hearing loss. For me it became light sensitivity.
Decision by majorities is as much an expedient as lighting by gas.
We were living in a tough situation, but my mother managed; she juggled. Sometimes we’d pay the light bill, sometimes we paid the phone, sometimes the gas went off.
One point I like to stress is that we should think of coal, oil, natural gas, and nuclear, as clean energy.
The smell of onion is the most effective thing for relieving stinging eyes irritated by tear gas.
I think Barack Obama has been a terrible disappointment environmentally. It’s very sobering to realize, as a westerner, that under the Obama administration, we now have more active oil and gas leases on public lands than Americans ever did. Obama has been worse.
You can never take your foot off the gas pedal. You have to play the right way at both ends.

My buddy Tim Bass he’s a-workin’ pumpin gas, and he makes two fifty for an hour. He’s got rhythm in his hands as he’s tappin’ on the cans, sings rock and roll in the shower.
I was not a girl who grew up buying $100 candles. I was the girl who ran out of gas on her way to an audition.
I can just remember the blitz of Manchester, or perhaps my father’s tales about the blitz of Manchester. I can remember the blackout, the powdered eggs, and the gas masks. But I think no British person should pretend that being resident in England could count as being in the thick of the action.
One more thing. I sold the mustang. Too conspicuous. Don’t get too excited, but I bought you a little something with the extra cash. I heard you’ve had your eye on a Volkswagen. The owner is dropping it by tomorrow. I paid for a full tank of gas, so make sure she delivers.
God made man to go by motives, and he will not go without them, any more than a boat without steam or a balloon without gas.
Don’t get confused; doing choreography in the ring can be done by anyone. I take the guy who works in the gas station on the corner, and I teach him a choreography for a week, and I swear he can do it in a ring.
Common sense dictates that a trace gas needed for life on the planet would not be the cause for destroying life on the planet. Common sense dictates that what has happened before without man can happen again with man. Common sense would dictate that you not believe me, or any one else, but go look for YOURSELF.
Our farmers and ranchers have never faced as many problems as they do today with drought, range fires, high gas prices and an ever tightening budget on agriculture subsidies.
Shell estimates that after 2015 supplies of easy-to-access oil and gas will no longer keep up with demand.

The squandering of oil and gas is associated with one of the greatest tragedies, not in the least resolved, which is suffered by humankind: climate change.
It sucks to think about, honestly, but when you really consider the resources that it takes to press vinyl records, or the amount of gas that it takes to tour, it’s really quite scary.
America sold VX nerve gas and anthrax to Iraq for years, even after the Halabja gas attack, which killed thousands of Kurds.
Electricity, water, gas, and steam course through the walls of my building, keeping it alive.
The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be.
As long as gas is cheaper than bottled water, we can’t be in a position of dictating to the consumer what to buy.
The self-image of many contemporary sportswriters seems to depend on maintaining that were it not for sports, athletes would be pumping gas, if they were not sticking up the gas station.
Usually, I don’t want to sit down and listen to the director gas on about his movie. I just can’t actually imagine myself sitting down and having that much to say.
Wyoming, home to Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons, is also the country’s largest coal producer and one of its largest gas drillers. Two-thirds of the state’s gas-drilling rigs are on public lands in the increasingly industrialized Greater Green River Basin.
Natural gas is the best transportation fuel. It’s better than gasoline or diesel. It’s cleaner, it’s cheaper, and it’s domestic. Natural gas is 97 percent domestic fuel, North America.
One of the things that we have to realize is we cannot get off gas, we cannot get off oil, fossil fuels tomorrow – it’s going to take a few decades. Maybe we can shorten it, but there’s going to have to be a transition time.
Leo: I’m almost out of gas! Woah, that came out wrong. I meant the burning kind!
Our history with Americans goes back over 80 years. They came here, they helped us harness our oil and gas, and we became leaders.
And I think it’s that time. And I think if you just step aside and Mr. Romney can kind of take over. You can maybe still use a plane. Though maybe a smaller one. Not that big gas guzzler you are going around to colleges and talking about student loans and stuff like that.
The good Lord put oil and gas there for us to find and use, and we’d better do it.
I love using gas grills because they are easier to heat and it’s much easier to control the flames with a gas grill than with a charcoal fire. Grilling is not just about lighting a fire.
If you have a car, you tune it up; you replace the parts. You try to keep it in good shape. This country has tires that are shot, a bunch of engine problems, and rather than saying, ‘Okay, let’s maybe put some new parts in here,’ we just keep putting gas in and driving forward.
Low-cost, high-grade coal, oil and natural gas – the backbone of the Industrial Revolution – will be a distant memory by 2050. Much higher-cost remnants will still be available, but they will not be able to drive our growth, our population and, most critically, our food supply as before.

Tobacco, balloons, and steam,
Are little events that have come to pass
Since the days of the old regime.
And, spite of Lempriere’s dazzling page,
I’d give–though it might seem bold–
A hundred years of the Golden Age
For a year of the Age of Gold.
Tobacco, balloons, and steam,

And, spite of Lempriere’s dazzling page,
I’d give–though it might seem bold–

For the last 50 years, the federal government has taken out of the Gulf Coast $165 billion in taxes that came from oil and gas off of our coast that went to the federal Treasury, to rebuild all places in America except the place that it came from.
I’m one of the few lucky actors in the world. I’ve never waited tables. I never pumped gas. I’ve always earned a living. I never had to borrow from my parents. I was the first in our family to own a new car.
It’s people wanting to do something about global climate change. People fed up with the high price of gas. People tired of breathing dirty air. In Houston, Los Angeles, Bakersfield, and other cities. It’s going to be a critical mass of people experiencing something.
I still have the mentality of someone who doesn’t know where he’s going to sleep and doesn’t know if he has enough money for gas to get to the next job interview. I don’t think that mentality ever leaves, you know?
When things get too heavy, just call me helium, the lightest known gas to man.
Scotland can’t afford to take their minds off the gas
You can’t get away, I can’t fill my car up at a gas station without Coors Light, Bud Light, Corona, whatever, it’s just the way it is.
Who needs Russian gas if we could get all the heat we need from our own surplus? Who needs Middle Eastern oil, when we can integrate limitless renewable sources in our smart grids?
If we’re going to talk about economic fairness, or about fairness, one of the most pressing economic issues facing families, seniors, and job creators in Missouri and across America is the strain of skyrocketing gas prices.
India unarmed would not require to be destroyed through poison gas or bombardment.
It’s amazing that something only an atom thick can be an impenetrable barrier. You can have gas on one side and vacuum or liquid on the other, and with a wall only one atom thick, nothing would go through it.
I’m totally in favour of meeting our Paris commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. But I don’t think we should do that by making ourselves uncompetitive.
Sometimes we followed the crops, doing migrant labor. We did several years of tenant farming in Western Oregon starting in the early ’50s. Later, my stepdad managed gas stations in a small town near Portland.
If any other religious cult knew so few basic facts about its own seminal beliefs as the liberal cult does about Joe McCarthy, Janet Reno would gas them.
I came here to help make America more competitive and prosperous by developing an energy policy that increases conservation, promotes cleaner technologies, encourages development of renewables and enhances domestic production of gas and oil.
States with tremendous oil and natural gas reserves have the most to gain economically from proper regulation.
We who advocate peace are becoming an irrelevance when we speak peace. The government speaks rubber bullets, live bullets, tear gas, police dogs, detention, and death.
Less tension in the Middle East is always a positive, and any drop in gas prices will essentially act as a tax break for consumers going into the holiday shopping season.
There is a fine line between passion and gas.
Electricity is derived from many non-renewable energy sources like oil, natural gas and coal.
I will be engaging myself personally, as the head of the Polish government, in the optimization of conditions for the exploration, research, logistics and the business related to the production of shale gas.
I have this one little saying, when things get too heavy just call me helium, the lightest known gas to man.
Loving difficult people will refine us. Perhaps only in heaven will our love be so perfected that we can actually like these people, too. St. Augustine spoke of a man who, on earth, had chronic gas problems; in heaven, his flatulence became perfect music.
Sulfur, when burning, absorbs oxygen gas; the resulting acid is considerably heavier than the sulfur burned; its weight is equal to the sum of weights of the sulfur burned and the oxygen absorbed.
Once you take your foot off the gas, your life will elevate.
Mexico holds the fifth-largest shale gas reserve in the world, in addition to large deep-water oil reserves and a tremendous potential in renewable energy.
We should start by allowing drilling in Alaska’s National Wildlife Refuge. It can provide billions of barrels of recoverable oil and trillions of cubic feet of recoverable natural gas.
Men really disgust me if they don’t have a nice smile, nice lips and nice teeth…They have too many disgusting habits – like scratching themselves all the time. And it’s really weird how guys think that passing gas is the funniest thing in the world. They love to do that thing in front of girls and laugh about it.
The federal helium program sells vast amounts of the gas to U.S. companies that use it in everything from party balloons to MRI machines. If the government stops, no one else is ready.
Gas is almost a give-away in the U.S. at the moment. They’ve gone for fracking in a big way. This is what makes me very cross with the greens for trying to knock it… Let’s be pragmatic and sensible and get Britain to switch everything to methane. We should be going mad on it.
My alphabet book at Duddingston Primary, Edinburgh, began traditionally with ‘a is for apple,’ but when it came to ‘g,’ it was ‘g is for gas globe.’ This was in the late Fifties; there hadn’t been gas globes for decades. The textbook must have been 30 or 40 years old!
I was 19 years old, pumping gas and going nowhere. I was kind of a high school dropout at that point because I had left school to play hockey, but no one drafted me.
After the last two years of springtime gas price spikes, nearly everyone in Southeast Wisconsin understands that something is wrong with our gasoline regulation and supply system.
Shale gas represents a promising new potential energy resource for the UK. It could contribute significantly to our energy security, reducing our reliance on imported gas, as we move to a low-carbon economy.
New York and Connecticut belong to the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative to cut carbon emissions, and New York City has been a leader in energy efficiency.
Every single dollar spent lobbying a legislator on behalf of oil and gas is a toxic dollar that undermines public health and safety laws that protect Americans. That’s contamination of the political system.
Imagine a kind of system where you have lightweight electric vehicles relatively small battery capacity, and then picking up charge wherever they park. You never have to worry about filling up your car, never go to the gas station, never plug it in, never do any of these things.
At one point, I was painting shells and selling them at gas stations for five cents. I was six years old or something.
What I see are people who want affordable energy. They want strong environmental standards – they want a lot of things – but first and foremost they want affordable energy. And if you want affordable energy, you want oil, gas and coal.
The biggest threat we face is the possibility of terrorist groups like al Qaeda equipped with weapons of mass destruction, with nukes, bugs or gas. That was the threat after 9/11 and when we took down Saddam Hussein we eliminated Iraq as a potential source of that.
Melting permafrost in Greenland and the Arctic tundra is releasing vast amounts of methane, a potent climate-altering gas.
Every decision we make – when we choose a vehicle, when we pump gas into that vehicle, when we order food – is not just a personal lifestyle choice. It’s an environmental and moral choice.

My father would pass gas and then blame it on imaginary animals.
Actually we’re not hearing a lot about gas prices right now from constituents. And I think that reflects a growing understanding on the part of the public, that there really is very little that the government and politicians can do.
Truly, to blame the president for high gas prices is like blaming Rudy Giuliani for 9/11.
A gas tax could be one important element of an integrated energy policy.
Oil is a special case. Saudi Arabia is trying to drive U.S. fracking rivals out of business, while also hurting Russia. This lowers gas prices for U.S. and Eurozone consumers, but not by enough to spur economic recovery.
Someone tried to save my soul in a gas station.
The message I am trying to get across is exactly this: Protecting the environment does not require us to be against large SUVs or trucks. Instead we should develop technology to cut down greenhouse gas emissions because that is where the action is – it’s not about what the size of the car is.
At 19, I basically held the position that if you were intellectually honest and really wanted to get in touch with political reality then you had to smell tear-gas.
I can’t pay my [bills]. I can’t go to work. My car is out of gas.

Several sellers of hot meat pies and sausages in a bun had appeared from nowhere and were doing a brisk trade. [Footnote: They always do, everywhere. No-one sees them arrive. The logical explaination is that the franchise includes the stall, the paper hat and a small gas-powered time machine.]
When you put more money in the pockets of working families, they spend it on groceries, gas, school supplies, and other goods and services. And that helps businesses grow and create jobs.
Before you rob your first bank, knock off a couple of gas stations.
I like to take folks back to the turn of the century when people said ‘gas cars can never replace horses because you can feed horses at your house, you get along with them, they’re nice.’
Mark Ruffalo, aka the Incredible Hulk, is the natural gas industry’s worst nightmare: a serious, committed activist who is determined to use his star power as a superhero in the hottest movie of the moment to draw attention the environmental and public health risks of fracking.
What you don’t hear from these GOP candidates is that they really can’t go after this president on domestic production of oil and gas. He’s actually done quite a lot. In fact, I would suspect they’re environmentalists who are worried that we’re doing too much drilling and fracking, in fact. I know that for a fact.
The Russian economy is a one-trick pony. They’re totally focused on natural gas and oil.
At the end of the day, natural-gas peakers sit back there and get financed so that the Midwest corridor can have a huge [period] of four to five days of no wind. The peakers are running big time to make that up, because that is the swing piece that can always be turned on.
The advantages? Exercise, no parking problems, gas prices, it’s fun. An automobile is expensive. You have to find a place to park and it’s not fun. So why not ride a bicycle? I recommend it.
A website without SEO is like a car with no gas.
As long as gas is cheaper than bottled water, we can’t be in a position of dictating to the consumer what to buy.
I’m not saying that the gas chambers didn’t exist. I couldn’t see them myself.
One of the industries we follow very closely is the trucking industry. They would love if today there was an option for them to run their fleets on natural gas, because of the price disparity between oil and refined diesel – which they almost exclusively run on now – and natural gas.

Now, I figured that the built-up gas in most boys’ locker rooms was enough to cause an explosion, so I wasn’t surprised when the flaming dodgeball ignited a huge WHOOOOOOOM!
The point of nonviolence is to build a floor, a strong new floor, beneath which we can no longer sink. A platform which stands a few feet above napalm, torture, exploitation, poison gas, A and H bombs, the works. Give man a decent place to stand.
For somebody for whom they’re going to buy a certain amount of gas irrespective of the price, should they really spend so much time thinking about the price of gas? It doesn’t affect anything they do.
Women oftentimes are the ones making those economic decisions, sitting around the kitchen table and trying to figure out how to pay for rising gas prices or food prices or the health insurance costs.
Man moves in all modes, by legs of horses, by wings of winds, by steam, by gas of balloon, by electricity, and stands on tiptoe threatening to hunt the eagle in his own element.
I think there is a role for courts in a variety of areas, but the notion that we can allow a federal judge to run our greenhouse gas policy strikes me as preposterous.

Modern life would not be possible if it were not for chemicals, nor would modern natural gas production.
Even a vortex is a vortex in something. You can’t have a whirlpool without water; and you can’t have a vortex without gas, or molecules or atoms or ions or electrons or something, not nothing.
Britain needs a diverse energy mix – home grown renewables, new nuclear, a switch from dirty coal to cleaner gas, and, when the technology is ready, carbon capture and storage. Diversity will keep the lights on and ensure we go green at the lowest possible cost.
In my almost ten years in the House of Representatives, I have voted consistently to allow companies to drill for oil and natural gas in environmentally friendly ways.
Natural gas is a dirty fossil fuel like the rest of them.
The EPA could act to open the transportation-fuel market to vigorous competition from natural gas as well as coal, biomass, and trash, by legalizing methanol. This would force oil prices down, expand the economy, and create millions of jobs.
Anybody who wants to cut the gas tax is going to have to suggest to me how we get the money to repair our roads and bridges.
I lived for two years in an abandoned gas station with no running water and no electricity after my parents got divorced and my stepdad couldn’t get a job. So I think a lot about families like mine who were middle class and struggled. So that experience really drives my philosophy.
Courage is a gas pedal and fear is a brake; when we go to our destination, we need both!
My mother was a trained nurse, and she’d tell me that patients would fight as they were administered anaesthetic, grappling to get the gas mask off their face.
When we can drain the Ocean into mill-ponds, and bottle up the Force of Gravity, to be sold by retail, in gas jars; then may we hope to comprehend the infinitudes of man’s soul under formulas of Profit and Loss; and rule over this too, as over a patent engine, by checks, and valves, and balances.
When it costs $50 to fill up our gas tanks, it impacts every aspect of our daily lives and the community.
Choosing the most fuel-efficient vehicles within a class can save drivers at least $1,500 in fuel costs and avoid more than 15 tons of greenhouse gas pollution over the life of the vehicle, as well as help reduce dependence on foreign oil.
If there’s been any use of nerve gas it’s the rebels that used it. If there has been a use of chemical weapons it was Al-Qaeda that used the chemical weapons – who gave al-Qaeda the chemical weapons? Here’s my theory, Israel gave them the chemical weapons.
I vill destroy de snickers bar!” Gazzy(The Gas Man)
In 1973, America imported 30 percent of its crude oil needs. Today, that number has doubled to more than 60 percent. Gas prices are as high as they are now in part because we’ve had no comprehensive national energy policy for the past few decades
Guns are always the best method for a private suicide. They are more stylish looking than single-edged razor blades and natural gas has got so expensive. Drugs are too chancy. You might miscalculate the dosage and just have a good time.
Maybe this isn’t a common thought that goes through one’s mind when considering children, but I think about the ramifications of climate change and how the extreme weather conditions will only get worse as we keep drilling for oil and fracking for natural gas. Do I want to bring a little human into that mix?
Recent warming coincides with rapid growth of human-made greenhouse gases. The observed rapid warming gives urgency to discussions about how to slow greenhouse gas emissions.
Natural gas is a very flexible source of energy that can help us bridge the gap between our current high-carbon economy and our zero-carbon future.
My goal is to never own a gas car.
We have to slow down the emissions of carbon dioxide and methane from coal burning, oil and eventually natural gas… And the best ways to do that are energy efficiency and a switch to renewables.
Resolution without routine is like a Ferrari without gas…it might look real good but it will get you no where.
We cut the hair from women after they had been exterminated in the gas chambers. The hair was then sent to factories, when it was woven into special fittings for gaskets.
In the 21st century, we must rethink broadband as a basic utility alongside gas, electric, and water.
Whereas an elephant that was scared to death that diesel powered equipment, equipment that ran on a gas engine, was just fine. Because somebody had attacked it with construction equipment. But if it had a diesel engine, it was bad.
Shale gas, if left to flourish, could create several hundred thousand more jobs.
There’s nothing that can replicate the smoky flavor of char, so when I’ve got the hankering for it, I tell my wife that I’m taking care of dinner. I have three different types of barbecues – a coal, gas and smoker – so I can experiment a lot.
When I was a kid, I worked as a clerk at my parent’s motel. From when I was eight or nine, I rented rooms, helped with laundry, folding tons of towels. And then I also worked at my dad’s gas station more as a young adult and as an adult.

Most challenges arise suddenly, with little warning. Climate change is different. For decades, we’ve known why global average temperatures are rising, why greenhouse gas concentrations are increasing, why the oceans are warming and weather patterns are growing more extreme.
Women don’t take enough risks. Men are just ‘foot on the gas pedal.’ We’re not going to close the achievement gap until we close the ambition gap.

No parents. You have Uncle Jesse, forever in overalls. Then there’s Bo and Duke. What do they do? I never saw them working for food or gas money. You can only kill so many possum.
I like mixing things up. That makes it more interesting. I love mixing in slower funk with what I do. I’ll add drum and bass and put my foot to the gas pedal and press it to the floor.
If anybody is so mad at Vladimir Putin, you know what they could do? They could advocate for a gas tax. He gets all his leverage from selling gas and oil. If we had a gas tax that made that less palatable, he would be less of a player on the world stage.
Politics are very much like war. We may even have to use poison gas at times.
I think gas prices are a conspiracy.
The thing you have to remember is, oil and gas are commodities, and the more we use them the more the price goes up, like any commodity. Solar, wind – they are technologies, so the more you use them, the more the price goes down.
What if life is not carbon-based? Can life exist as a gas or a plasma? Could planets or stars in some sense be alive? What about an interstellar cloud? Could life exist on such a small or large scale, or move so fast or so slowly that we wouldn’t recognize it? Could you have an intelligent virus?

One of my most vivid memories from 1974 was the gas station at the foot of the hill below my Southern California high school – car lines snaking out into the street, heralding the failure of the government’s price controls and lame ideas such as odd-even rationing.
When it can be done safely and appropriately, U.S.-produced oil and natural gas is important, and domestic production has energy security benefits over importing those fuels.
We were building a – what I thought was a fantastic company. We had great people. We were changing – we were changing the way the marketplace operated. We were creating a market for natural gas and electricity that had never existed before.
The city is not changing anything, … increases in the cost of natural gas will be passed through to the customer.
Bolivia also depends not only on tin and other minerals, but also depends on the gas and oil. A rational extraction should be made, taking care of the environment. We should give added value to this natural resource, and generate revenue to fight poverty with more resources, that come from natural resources.

In order to win, you must be fully charged. To be fully charged, you must have gas in your tank.
Alaska has great potential for new oil and gas development.
I am firmly convinced that the trend toward more fuel-efficient vehicles is not a fad. Gas prices will continue to rise in the medium to long term, because demand is growing considerably in China, India and other countries.
It was like being in a car with the gas pedal slammed down to the floor and nothing to do but hold on and pretend to have some semblance of control. But control was something I’d lost a long time ago.
I was a pizza delivery man. I worked at a gas station. I worked a lot of jobs, man. A lot of jobs.

The increase in inequality in income is a longtime trend, but the pressure on middle- and low-income workers is going up rapidly. Especially if they live in an area where there are high housing and gas prices, like California.
We recognize that greenhouse gas emissions are one of the factors affecting climate change.
We have become great because of the lavish use of our resources … But the time has come to inquire seriously what will happen when our forests are gone, when the coal, the iron, the oil and the gas are exhausted.
It’s in the history books, the Holocaust. It’s just a phrase. And the truth is it happened yesterday. It happened to my mother. I never met my grandfathers or my grandmothers. They were all wiped up in the gas chambers of Nazi Germany.
Seoul will strictly limit the total greenhouse gas emissions from buildings and expand the construction of zero-energy buildings.
In 1973, America imported 30 percent of its crude oil needs. Today, that number has doubled to more than 60 percent. Gas prices are as high as they are now in part because we’ve had no comprehensive national energy policy for the past few decades.
Poets say science takes away from the beauty of the stars – mere globs of gas atoms. I, too, can see the stars on a desert night, and feel them. But do I see less or more?
Most of my recognition comes from us winning that championship. The words may not come out – ‘Super Bowl III’ – because a lot of the folks at the grocery store, gas station or mall weren’t even born when we won the Super Bowl. But they’re aware of it. It has had a tremendous impact on my life since then.

I can say that I don’t see myself with the foot on the gas pedal as hard as it’s been down for 16 years.
Besides, the only thing you can control in life is your wardrobe. Cars break down when you least expect it. Boats eat money and gas. Your house, your mate, your friends, your family, even your career, are beyond your control. However, you’re in total command of what you put on your back each morning.
No one does a better, cleaner, or environmental friendlier, than the United States, when it comes to drilling for oil, gas, coal, oil refineries and fish friendly hydroelectric.
I run like an electric golf cart. Now I look at eating as a way to feed my body and keep me younger. It’s not about starving your body, but treating your body like a Ferrari. You don’t put in the crappiest gas you can find. You use supreme. In the long term, you’ll run clean.
I’m a brand type guy and we want to make sure that ‘Gas Monkey’ is out there in every arena that we can be. I’m also never short on ideas and I usually try to get them out there at all times.

When you buy a gallon of gas, over 60 percent of the energy you pay for goes out the radiator in the form of waste heat? That’s why you have a radiator in your car in the first place.
Russia is actively using gas diplomacy for its expansion over the ex-Soviet space in a bid to become a regional superpower.
We see natural gas as an important part of the electricity generation mix for many decades to come.
Alongside energy efficiency, renewables and abatement, I believe safe nuclear power, with manageable waste, can play an important role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as long as it is cost competitive with other low carbon generation.
Long-haul trucking. Just roaming the country, alone, with audiobooks and podcasts, sleeping in the back of the cab, showering at gas stations at 4 a.m., minimal human contact. That’s living the dream.

South Korea has very few natural resources. The country isn’t stocked with oil, much natural gas, or even many minerals. What it does have is an enormous quantity of sheet masks, BB creams, essences, and face masks packaged to look like tomatoes.
The problem is that everywhere the gas drilling industry goes, a trail of water contamination, air pollution, health concerns and betrayal of basic American civic and community values follows.
When you put more money in the pockets of working families, they spend it on groceries, gas, school supplies, and other goods and services. And that helps businesses grow and create jobs. So many forward-looking employers, large and small, understand this.

When you’re out of gas, you don’t have many options.
First of all, the idea that natural gas is better than coal is a lie, especially when it comes to fracking for natural gas. It is a lie that was bought into by a lot of Democrats and a lot of environmentalists because I think they wanted to have a win against something; against coal.
Obsidian was caused by volcanoes, an eruption of steam and gas so furious that it melted the earth itself into this hard, shiny object.

It’s very important that people realize: the air is being taken away, the oceans are being taken away, the room is being taken away, but we’re so worried about gas prices that we don’t even see this stuff.
In addition, for almost a year now I have been urging the President, the Department of Justice, and the Federal Trade Commission to investigate suspicious gas price spikes.
It’s extraordinary what children put up with. I happened to see two of my uncles put my father up against the wall of my grandmother’s house and knock his teeth out, because he’d been unpleasant to my mother. The next day I went upstairs and found my father making a rather half-hearted attempt to gas himself.
Russia has the ability to control Ukraine’s economic future because of the natural gas pipeline link. And as a result, that means that Russia has just all along been in a stronger bargaining position.
Today, public companies don’t like the idea of conglomerates. People want to buy something in which they know where they are putting their money – into the food business or the oil and gas business. They don’t want to put their money into a hodge-podge as a general rule.
We were never motorheads. We knew fast cars. We knew how to siphon gas – me – charge the battery when it was down. But never hot-wired a car.
The First World War was a horror of gas, industrialised slaughter, fear, and appalling human suffering.

I see no anti-Semitic implications in denial of the existence of gas chambers, or even denial of the Holocaust.
It’s not unexpected that shooting massive amounts of water, sand, and chemicals at high pressure into the earth to shatter shale and release natural gas might shake things up. But earthquakes aren’t the worst problem with fracking.
Living in a small town you couldn’t go anywhere on a Saturday where a store had the game on. If you were downtown you heard the game. If you were at the gas station you heard the game. I remember I would be mowing the lawn and I would stop for the Nebraska game. I would have it cranking outside.
I know that elections must be limited only to those who understand that the Arabs are the deadly enemy of the Jewish state, who would bring on us a slow Auschwitz – not with gas, but with knives and hatchets.
Don’t come around and try come gas me up, I like running on E
Genetic algorithms (GAs) are defined as search procedures based on the mechanics of natural selection and genetics, and we think we know what innovation is – at least in some sort of qualitative way – but what does one have to do with the other?
Many of us harbor hidden low self-esteem. We deem everything and everyone more important that ourselves and think that meeting their needs is more important than meeting our own. But if you run out of gas, everyone riding with you will be left stranded.
Flue gas extraction is really, really hard to do. It’s not that we can’t do it – just not at a cost that anyone will bear.
They say you’re meant to live everyday as if it were your last, which I’ve always thought was daft, since no one would ever pay the gas bill if that was the case, but what if it were your first?
I go to church every Sunday, which is like going to the gas station once a week and really, really filling up.
According to science, the universe began as a swirl of gas that, as it cooled, spun off the Ten Commandments.
Oil futures were originally created to give heating oil dealers, gas retailers, aviation companies and other businesses a method of hedging against adverse price changes. Instead, they’ve become just another Wall Street plaything.
An actor’s popularity is fleeting. His success has the life expectancy of a small boy who is about to look into a gas tank with a lighted match.
If you live today, you breath in nihilism … it’s the gas you breathe. If I hadn’t had the Church to fight it with or to tell me the necessity of fighting it, I would be the stinkingest logical positivist you ever saw right now.
It was of limited usefulness to head great rallies. The government did not listen, and, soon enough, the tear gas and the muzzles of the guns were turned against the people. The justice of our cries went unrecognized.
In 1979 I teamed up with my friend and business partner, Bill DeWitt, and together we formed an oil and gas company that invested through limited partnerships in oil and gas exploration.
I think we are all interested in end-times ideas and also in the current climate that we are all living in, where money is a little harder to come by, things continue to get expensive; gas prices are not too far from people’s heads. There are more and more people. Human society’s going to have real problems.
Like a snowplow in overdrive, a supernova shockwave might sweep away any gas clouds in its path.
Software is a gas; it expands to fill its container.
Last time I had a flat tire, I pulled my truck into one of those side-of-the-road gas stations. The attendant walks out, looks at my truck, looks at me, and I swear he said, Tire go flat? I couldn’t resist. Said, Nope. I was driving around and those other three just swelled right up on me. Here’s your sign.
I ‘Don’t See How It Matters’ That I Don’t Know The Price Of Gas.
I have been working with Hive, part of British Gas, on reinventing the thermostat. Now you can control your heating at the press of a button on your phone. As I say, design should permeate every part of society.
It’s hard to store natural gas. And it does require big storage tanks. So it doesn’t work very well on passenger cars.
Wait a minute. What did you just say? You’re predicting $4-a-gallon gas? … That’s interesting. I hadn’t heard that.
The more we’re doing to ensure we’re following our joy and passion, that’s when we really start to put the gas in our lives.
He gave life to the breath- oxygen, a simple gas, he transferred into words, ideas, hope.
Okay, first rule of this carpool. No breaking wind in my car. The only gas that Bernie Mac want to be smelling is unleaded.
While the ranking of individual years can be affected by chaotic weather patterns, the long-term trends are attributable to drivers of climate change that right now are dominated by human emissions of greenhouse gases…
Oil companies have gas stations. There’s this whole huge structure that is about finding a new liquid for the tank. And the idea that maybe there shouldn’t be a liquid, that maybe the best is an electrical grid, a sustainably powered electrical grid that we all plug into, that doesn’t sit well with oil companies.
If I were investing in oil and gas stocks, there is one question I would ask CEO’s: What portion of your capital is going to have to go in to stay even
While the men of the steel industry were going through blood and gas in defense of their rights and their homes and their families, elsewhere on the far-flung C.I.O. front the hosts of labor were advancing and intelligent and permanent progress was being made.
Got my Allman Brothers cassettes stacked up on the dash, got some Jack back in the trunk and a tank full of gas.

Some argue we should get coal, oil and gas out of the ground as quickly as possible, build more pipelines and make as much money as we can selling it here and abroad. Their priorities are the economy and meeting short-term energy needs so we can live the lives to which we’ve become accustomed.
Romania can be a linchpin in delivering gas to its neighbors and even become an energy exporter for its neighbors across Central and Eastern Europe.
Bring on your tear gas, bring on your grenades, your new supplies of Mace, your state troopers and even your national guards. But let the record show we ain’t going to be turned around.
None of the proposed inter-city solutions would have offered more frequent or more affordable service than existing options like bussing. Busses can also be easily re-routed around gas leaks, car accidents, or traffic congestion.
I’ve never been a fan of personality-conflict burgers and identity-crisis omelets with patchouli oil. I function very well on a diet that consists of Chicken Catastrophe and Eggs Overwhelming and a tall, cool Janitor-in-a-Drum. I like to walk out of a restaurant with enough gas to open a Mobil station.
What surprises me, what amazes me, is that it seems the military people were expecting to stumble on large quantities of gas, chemical weapons and biological weapons.
I went dead broke – twice! – trying to get Gas Monkey up and going. And when I say broke, I mean sleeping on my sister’s couch and can’t pay-the-rent type broke.
New discoveries and production of resources like shale oil and gas are dramatically altering our energy supply outlook and the entire global geopolitical landscape. And the pace of change – particularly in the past few years – continues to accelerate.
We have stars, planets and galaxies in space. There’s lots of nothingness out there, but it’s really not. There’s gas, dust and other bits of matter floating around emptier’ areas of the universe, but you can’t see it very easily.
The good Lord didn’t see fit to put oil and gas only where there are democratic regimes friendly to the United States.
I have come to believe that extracting natural gas from shale using the newish technique called hydrofracking is the environmental issue of our time. And I think you should, too.
The Modi government’s accountability towards the common man can be gauged from the fact that be it Indians trapped overseas, a helpless mother looking for a doctor for her ailing child in a train, or a housewife struggling to get a gas cylinder, help is just a tweet away, with no protocol or red tape intervening.
The police can’t use clubs or gas or dogs. I suppose they will have to use poison ivy.
I will lift the restrictions on the production of American energy, which is getting clobbered with the EPA, and by the way, and with the restrictions – including shale, oil, natural gas, and clean coal. We are putting our miners back to work.
With new oil and gas discoveries, Africa’s energy exporters will have to invest in defence capability and work with other Indian Ocean powers to ensure security of sea lanes.
The war on driving includes calls for carbon and gas taxes, tens of billions of gas tax money diverted to inefficient and little-used mass transit projects, and opposition to building new roads and highways.
The oil and gas sector in the North Sea does have a strong future if we do the right things now, but we’ve got to make sure that the infrastructure is right to support the sector, but also to support, over the next few years, diversification as well.
When kids grow up into adults now… they learn that taking care of their body is like taking care of their car. You’re not going to put bad gas into your car. Why not treat your body the same way? It makes all the sense in the world for us to do the right thing for our bodies.
CAFE standards have little impact on greenhouse gas emissions, and the environmental benefits of increasing CAFE standards are frequently overstated. Their impact on human health is more certain: CAFE standards have resulted in tens of thousands of deaths since their adoption.
There are now more than 4,000 places in the sea around the world that have some kind of protection. The bad news: You have to look hard to find them. What you find instead is destructive fishing, mining, gas and oil exploration.
You don’t want to be the only car company. When you’re the only car company and there’s no competition, customers may not know what a car is, the roads may not be developed for cars, there may not be gas stations everywhere.
Since I walked in the door as secretary of energy, I’ve been doing everything in our powers to do what we can to reduce these gas prices. … So, of course we don’t want the price of gasoline to go up; we want it to go down.
Mix the the gas with the lean, call that gasoline
The simplest way to remove carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas, is to grow plants – preferably trees, since they tie up more of the gas in cellulose, meaning it will not return to the air within a season or two. Plants build themselves out of air and water, taking only a tiny fraction of their mass from the soil.
Cooking requires time, effort and fuel: increasing numbers of people I’ve visited can’t even afford to turn on the kettle for a cup of tea as they eke out every penny to feed their extortionate gas and electric meters.
The total amount of energy we use every year – from coal, oil, natural gas, hydro, nuclear, and everything else – is dwarfed by the amount of solar energy hitting the planet each year.
All sensible Army people turned gas warfare down as being utterly insane since, in view of your superiority in the air, it would not be long before it would bring the most terrible catastrophe upon German cities, which were completely unprotected.
Not crazy in a ‘let’s paint the kitchen bright red!’ sort of way. But crazy in a ‘gas oven, toothpaste sandwich, I am God’ sort of way. Gone were the days when she would stand on the deck lighting lemon-scented candles without then having to eat the wax.p28
I believe we will see a biofuels resurgence. While gas prices skyrocket and we continue to wage wars for oil, while spills, fracking, tar sands and the oil madness of our empire continue, people are waking up and realizing that you can’t be against petroleum and against fuels that come from nature.
If you take your foot off the gas, there’s always someone who wants your spot.
The CIA estimates that Iraq probably has a few hundred metric tons of chemical weapons agents, for mustard gas, sarin, and other deadly concoctions. This is addition to an extensive capacity to produce biological weapons, including anthrax and ricin, which is fatal within 24 to 36 hours of exposure.
Government attempts to ban fracking should be aborted. The government should lift the burdensome regulations that have made the construction of nuclear power plants excessively expensive, thereby freeing up even more natural gas for direct use or for methanol manufacture.
You know what, I think maybe it’s because men like to fart, and the host wants to be able to sit in his writers’ room and just pass gas freely. Me, I’m a lady. I’m dainty. I know to get up and leave the room and go to my office.
When you frack a well, you’re exploding methane up into the atmosphere. So, Barack Obama, by supporting natural gas, and also talking about climate change is literally burning his own inaugural address. And he’s doing it with natural gas.
When you buy toothpaste or detergent or gas, that is now used for the first time in your lifetime or my lifetime to support candidates in so-called ‘independent ads.’ Same thing for unions.
The Iraqi regime . . . possesses and produces chemical and biological weapons. It is seeking nuclear weapons. We know that the regime has produced thousands of tons of chemical agents, including mustard gas, sarin nerve gas, VX nerve gas.
Advertising is poison gas. It should bring tears to your eyes, unhinge your nervous system and knock you out.
Let’s talk about the Gas Company because this is my favorite job.
The cars haven’t advanced that much since we were kids. When you boil it down, it’s still a gas combustion engine.
Carbon dioxide is unusual because it doesn’t go through the usual three phases of matter, from solid to liquid to gas, but it goes straight from solid to gas. The volume of the gas is much greater than the volume of the solid. When a solid turns into a gas, we say it sublimes. The process is sublimation.
I had three jobs my junior and senior year of high school. I worked for the gas station and worked for a pizza place.
The ‘SAMS’ study, titled ‘A New Normal: Ongoing Chemical Weapons Attacks in Syria’, reveals that the Assad regime merely switched from sarin gas to chlorine gas in its bombardment of civilians areas.
I have said, and I repeat, at the risk of appearing sacrilegious, that the gas chambers are a detail of the history of the Second World War.
The black line is carbon emissions to date. The red line is the status quo – a projection of where emissions will go if no new substantial policy is passed to restrain greenhouse gas emissions.
Two of our biggest stores are in Dallas NorthPark and Houston Galleria, where the economy and our customers’ business interests are heavily dependent on the oil and gas industry.
Can we live without Russian gas in Europe? The answer is no. Are there any reasons to live without it? I think – and I’m not defending the interests of Total in Russia – it is a no.
Natural gas is the future. It is here.
Compared to coal, which generates almost half the electricity in the United States, natural gas is indeed a cleaner, less polluting fuel. But compared to, say, solar, it’s filthy. And of course there is nothing renewable about natural gas.
A national carbon tax would devastate an already struggling American economy, force the cost of gas at the pump to jump even higher, and kill millions more jobs here at home.
I was born in Siberia, which supplies nearly 80 percent of Russia’s oil and natural gas resources, so I’ve always been aware of how big a pollutant that industry is. But it was a huge wake-up call to learn that the fashion industry is the second-largest polluter after oil.
I made a mistake when I said there were no gas chambers at Auschwitz.
I am absolutely convinced that the gas chambers of Auschwitz, Treblinka, and Maidanek were ultimately prepared not in some ministry or other in Berlin, but rather at the desks and in the lecture halls of nihilistic scientists and philosophers.
For me, not owning a car means I may spend a little extra time on public transportation, but I can use that time to read, catch up on work projects, and make the phone calls I couldn’t get to earlier. Plus, I never waste time at the mechanics or gas station.
There is a water soluble sugar that is in beans called oligosaccharides, and they are indigestible by human beings. They ferment during the digestion process, and hence, you have gas.
The command “Be ye prfect” is not idealistic gas. Nor is it a command to do the impossible. He said (in the Bible) that we were “gods” and he is going to make good his words. He will make us into a god or goddess, a dazzling, radiant, immortal creature…a bright stainless mirror which reflects back to God perfectly.
I’m a vegan. But, no one believes it because when you’re out in the field, most of your meal options involve meat with a side of something fried. I’ve learned how to be creative and improvise and can eat anywhere – even a steak house or a gas station.
There may be no issue that better illustrates the differences between Republicans and Democrats than energy. Consider it the ‘all of the above’ strategy for reducing gas prices, versus the ‘all pain, no gain’ plan for punishing those who emit carbon (like you).
If you start responding to every stimulus, then you end up as a nerve gas case, quite literally. Neurons fire at once.
Go forward until the last round is fired and the last drop of gas is expended…then go forward on foot!
Western society has many flaws, and it is good for an educated person to have thought some of these through, even at the expense of losing a lecture or two to tear gas.
Man is that being who invented the gas chambers of Auschwitz; however, he is also that being who entered those chambers upright, with the Lord’s Prayer or the Shema Yisrael on his lips.
Tunisia was not for the United States an important country in the way, let’s say, Algeria was because of its gas, because of its size, because of its struggle against terrorism that sometimes turned bloody.
You’re also looking at a global warming solution here in Europe: smaller vehicles, more energy efficient, many which use diesel fuel which is more efficient. And the price of gas here is $6 a gallon to discourage guzzling. A lot of big ideas and innovations coming out of Europe.
The stream in my hometown Calgary is the oil and gas industry – that’s the talk you hear on the street.
I check the list. Rubber tubing, gas, saw, gloves, cuffs, razor wire, hatchet, Gladys, and my mitts.

All of these people who are organized with these oil-and-gas interests, that’s in the administration and friends of the President of the United States [Donald Trump], these back channeling that you see. These are a bunch of scumbags. That’s what they are.

Rather than proposing a forward-looking energy initiative, House Republicans continue to push Big Oil’s tired old ideas, ideas that will do absolutely nothing to lower gas prices for the American consumer.
That’s what the gas is about, that’s what the bloating is about and that’s what the fat storage is about.
We continue to go from crisis to crisis, whether it is electricity or whether it is gas prices. We need comprehensive solutions, not patchwork crisis management. We wouldn’t be in this situation today if Senate Democrats weren’t holding up the national energy plan that the president proposed back in May of 2001.
I fear that within 10 years gays, trade union activists and left wing politicians will be led off to the gas chambers.

First, by 2020, North America will be energy independent by taking full advantage of our oil and coal and gas and nuclear and renewables.
The only one that got through was Jimmy Walker, because he plays the gas station attendant. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just that we were kind of purists at the time, and we didn’t want any comedians.
In terms of energy sectors, we need coal; we need oil; we need gas; we need uranium. And we need to have rules and regulations that allow those companies to stay in business.

With Zipcar, consumers avoid the upfront cost of buying a car, not to mention gas, insurance, and repairs. Plus, they reduce the number of polluting vehicles on the road. Suddenly the planet-smart carless option is also the convenient money-saving option.
The Sixties were an era of extreme reality. I miss the smell of tear gas. I miss the fear of getting beaten.
Saddam Hussein had nerve gas and used it against his own people, he had used chemical weapons against the Iranians and he almost had a nuclear bomb in 1981 and in 1991. And he had been caught with anthrax in 1995 by the UN inspections after denying that he had it.
God’s will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that.
Unlike fuel-economy standards, the most common method of reducing demand for oil over the past thirty years, a gas tax doesn’t tell people what kind of car to drive. It simply raises the price of gasoline and lets people adjust their behavior accordingly.
Generally speaking, exoplanets can be any size, and they are found in a wide range of orbits. Some have massive gas atmospheres; others are smaller with an icy or rocky composition.

According to the latest poll, a record 73 percent of Americans think the country is headed in the wrong direction. But the good news: Gas is so expensive that we’ll never get there.
Natural gas is hemispheric. I like to call it hemispheric in nature because it is a product that we can find in our neighborhoods.
Offshore drilling is not the solution to U.S. energy independence, and I am against opening parts of the Arctic, Pacific and Atlantic oceans to oil and natural gas production.
I loved growing up in a little town. I loved knowing people. I loved going to the store and running into people. I loved going into the store and having forgotten my bag, saying, ‘Charge it, put it on my bill.’ I loved going to the gas station and saying, ‘Pete, fill it up.’ I loved that continuity of life.
While millionaire Liberals like Justin Trudeau may want higher gas prices, hardworking Canadian families definitely do not.
Just as water, gas, and electricity are brought into our houses from far off to satisfy our needs in response to a minimal effort, so we shall be supplied with visual or auditory images, which will appear and disappear at a simple movement of the hand, hardly more than a sign.
Does the customer invent new product or service? The customer generates nothing. No customer asked for electric lights. There was gas and gas mantles, which gave good light.
If you take a book of a thousand pages on the Second World War, in which 50 million people died, the concentration camps occupy two pages and the gas chambers ten or 15 lines, and that’s what one calls a detail.
There is an incredible renewable energy resource off both coasts of this country – wind and tidal energy that can power our economy, create good paying jobs and reduce greenhouse gas pollution.
Books on their own aren’t insanely expensive compared to other things; three large cappuccinos cost more than a paperback, and two and a half gallons of gas cost more than a paperback.
The natural gas industry has worked long and hard to smear Josh Fox, the director of ‘Gasland,’ and has failed.
People forget that in early 1970s, there were 3 sushi bars in New York City. Three. Three. Think about that. Now, there is sushi in… I’ve eaten it – there is sushi at gas stations in Middle America.

At the end of the day, you can have all the talent in the world. But if you don’t put in the work, nothing works. The engine doesn’t start going. It’s a car without gas.
If it tastes good, spit it out. All those cakes and pies and candy and ice cream — all that terrible fast food stuff! I just bought a new corvette sports car … would I put oil in the gas tank? Would I?
When I go up there, I see coal lobbyists, oil lobbyists, natural gas lobbyists, nuclear power lobbyists, somehow they think that’s where the action is in Congress.
Compounds of gaseous substances with each other are always formed in very simple ratios, so that representing one of the terms by unity, the other is 1, 2, or at most 3 … The apparent contraction of volume suffered by gas on combination is also very simply related to the volume of one of them.
Some of you say religion makes people happy. So does laughing gas.
Many governments are giving subsidies to fossil fuel production and consumption that encourage greenhouse gas emissions, at the same time as they are spending on projects to promote clean energy. This is a wasteful use of scarce budget resources.
No one will pay you for planning an expedition at first: you have to work in pubs at weekends so you can pay the gas bills. I joined the Territorial Army, which paid me when I turned up to drill nights, and so did my wife.
If you sell me a car, we have perhaps made a good bargain for ourselves. But there are effects of this transaction on others, which we do not take into account. There is more pollution, the price of gas goes up, there is more congestion.
I was very bearish on natural gas for many years, pretty much from 2006 on. There was a tremendous natural gas bubble in the United States.
Russia has the largest reserves of natural resources, including iron and natural gas. The market will develop in the long term, and the VW Group will benefit from it.
The ‘environmental left’ tells us that, though we have natural resources like natural gas and oil and coal, and though we can feed the world, we should keep those things in the ground, put up fences, and be about prohibition.
We never had it as rough as the kids have it today. Look at the price of a gallon of gas or a piece of real estate or a college education.
